Day 23  Date 17/05/2018

•  Things I learned and did today: I practiced how to do tonogramms and transcriptions and did tasks to memorize the examples of assimilation. I was getting ready for the Final Pass.
• For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent: from time to time I make a mistake in pronunciation of bilabial “w”(instead of it, labiodentals “v”)
• I  would give 6  points out of 10 for my pronunciation today because my intonation was incorrect because of  mistakes in the intonation (attitude of grumble, L-R, F-R)
• For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent: Dark “l”, wrong stresses in some of the words, problems with nuclear tones (F-R and L-R)
•  I would give points 7 out of 10 for my partner’s pronunciation today because of mistakes in the pronunciation of “l” sound.
• Impressions for today’s lesson: We did a lot of important and useful work that helped to understand my mistakes ( in the tonogramm and reading) and got rid of them. Now I’ll focus on these aspects.
• To improve my results, I should do the following task at home:  I will do exercises on assimilation and tonogrammes and reading tasks.

Day 20  Date 26/04/2018

•  Things I learned and did today: I practiced my listening skills by recognizing the words from different songs and did the tasks with assimilation.
• For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:   lack of force of articulation (fortis consonants), the vowels are not wide enough
• I  would give 7  points out of 10 for my pronunciation today because of these mistakes
• For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent: slow tempo, wrong stresses in the words
•  I would give points 6 out of 10 for my partner’s pronunciation today because of mistakes in tunes.
• Impressions for today’s lesson: Practiced assimilation, learned some new information about this phenomenon
• To improve my results, I should do the following task at home:  I’ll do the exercises to practice it.

 Things I learned and did today: I practiced the sounds /f/ and/v/, listened to others’ dialogues and ranked their phonetics. Also, we learned some information about assimilation.

For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:  slow tempo, lack of force of articulation (consonants)  

I  would give 7  points out of 10 for my pronunciation today because of these mistakes

For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent: wrong intonation patterns in the beginning of the dialogue (the Fall-Rise should be wider, the Low-Rise should start lower than she did)

 I would give points 6 out of 10 for my partner’s pronunciation today because of mistakes in tunes.

Impressions for today’s lesson: We did a lot of things that helped me to understand my mistakes and compare with others, I’d refreshed my mind of using the assimilation.

To improve my results, I should do the following task at home:  I’ll read more about assimilation and try to practice this phenomenon.

•  Things I learned and did today: I practiced the sound /tʃ/in the tong twister “How much wood..”, read the dialogues on sounds /tʃ/and / dʒ/, did the tonogram for the 7^th dialogue
• For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:  lack of smoothness in some parts, wrong tunes in some parts
• I  would give 6 points out of 10 for my pronunciation today because some mistakes
• For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent: loss of aspiration with  sounds “t”and “p”, fluency and mistakes with nuclear tones.
•  I would give points 4 out of 10 for my partner’s pronunciation today because of these mistakes.
• Impressions for today’s lesson: the lesson gave me an opportunity to practice my listening skills and desire to master my reading 
• To improve my results, I should do the following task at home:  I’ll practice reading the sounds /f/ and /v/

•  Things I learned and did today: I practiced different tunes, rhythm and pace with a tongue twister “Sister Susie’s sewing shirts for soldiers”. In addition, we mastered our listening skills.
• For today, my English speech has the following features of Russian accent:  lack of fluency in some parts of the sentence and wrong stresses on the weak (weak forms).
• I would give 7  points out of 10 for my pronunciation today because the reading was quite good but there were some mistakes with fluency.
• For today, English speech of my partner has the following features of Russian accent: lack of aspiration of sounds “t”and “p”, fluency and mistakes with stress.
•  I would give points 5out of 10 for my partner’s pronunciation today because of these mistakes.
• Impressions for today’s lesson: I liked the idea of “conducting” our speech. It was both useful and entertaining.
• To improve my results, I should do the following task at home:  I will improve my reading skills while reading texts on pages 55-56.
