Day 2 Date 22/09/2017
·
Things I learned and did today: I analyzed
phonetic phenomena in the song, practiced fortis consonant sound
by repeating the tongue twister “Peter Piper” with different emotions, and did
the ear training.
·
For today, my English speech has the following
features of Russian accent: I pronounce diphthongoids in a wrong way: they should be slightly changed
in the end. Also, I should pay more attention on “clear/dark L”, weak forms and
fluency.
·
I would give 5 points out of
10 for my pronunciation today because of features
of Russian accent that were mentioned before.
·
For today, English speech of
my partner has the following features of Russian accent: the
pronunciation of “fleece” and “kit” vowels, lack of aspiration, problems with “clear/dark L”, fluency and intonation (stressed
words).
·
I would give 3 points out of
10 for my partner’s pronunciation today, because she made a
lot of mistakes in vowels, didn’t use fluency and put the stress on unstressed syllables.
·
Impressions for today’s
lesson: the lesson was productive
because we discussed some phonetic phenomena in the song and now I know how to use
them correctly.
·
To improve my results, I should do the following task
at home: practicing my pronunciation
with a help of the song 'Lemon Tree" and reading the dialogues.
